Hi! I’m Georgia Emily (but please call me Georgie). I’m a writer living in England and currently author of The Game, though I also love working on novels (and maybe a script or two as well…)

Some of my favourite books/writers are:

  • The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. (I had to immediately read that book again the first time I finished it – and not just because Charlie does!)
  • The Martian by Andy Weir. (Oh my gosh. Read it!)
  • Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. (Random fact: I will actually buy anything Rainbow Rowell writes, which is why I currently own the entire relaunched comic book series ‘The Runaways‘.)
  • To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
  • The Lunar Chronicles series by Stephanie Meyer.
  • I’m also a little (a lot) obsessed with John Green and Stephen King.

I love rom-coms and science-fiction, will passionately recreate musicals in the shower, am not opposed to the occasional car chase or fight scene, and will cry at any Disney movie where an animal dies.

If I’m not with family, reading, or writing, I’m usually swimming, cycling, or running.

I’m a big advocate for the Oxford comma.

The wisest person I know once told me this (my dad 😜) and it totally, TOTALLY blew my mind. It’s something I still remind myself of all the time, because I’m still not sure my brain has actually fully learned it yet 🤪 which sounds crazy, because it seems so obvious. But that’s the world we live in, I think – everything has to be earned, right?! But it’s lovely when you remember: actually, it doesn’t. Because what’s the point of life if not to be happy? Knew I loved coffee for a greater reason 😄 It’s all about the breathing calmly 😜 Sometimes I find comfort in thinking even my idols and people I admire all started as babies – and they probably still don’t always know what they’re doing. Being a grown up seems to be the biggest con going (especially since we’re all in on it but never talk about it)! If you want to love running but are really struggling – get a running buddy. Or join a local club. Even find fellow runners virtually. Because the bond you share with other runners (or cyclists or swimmers or teammates of any description) is like nothing else. I love a bridge 😂 No matter how small or unnoticed you may feel at times – you really do matter. Even if it doesn’t always feel that way, if you’re feeling lost, lonely, or like you’re not making a difference, you mean something to someone. You might not always see it, but your presence impacts people in ways you don’t even realise; you’ve made someone smile, helped someone in a way you didn’t even understand, or just been there at the right time. So take care of yourself. Be gentle with your heart and give yourself the same kindness you’d give someone you love – not just for you, but for them too. Because they need you. You have value just by being here. You have purpose, even on the days that feel heavy. The world is better with you in it – don’t forget that. Been a little less present here the last week or so (my face has, at least 🙈) because I’ve been on two rounds of antibiotics and it’s really taken it out of me. But it seems this second lot is working (🤞) and I’m starting to feel waaaay better – just in time for the sun! Well, the sun almost made it 😆 it’s getting a bit colder again, but that’s okay, because now there’s been some HOPE! ☀️ summer will one day live again 😂
