We are somehow onto November book releases already.
November.
(Am I old for saying this?)
It’s officially cold. I’m making peace with that fact by going over the absolutely stellar list below of books being released next month, which I am extremely excited about.
I was somewhat hoping/expecting the first of the new Christmas book releases to start appearing on this list; however, if they’re coming, I haven’t noticed them…
Never mind – that just leaves more excitement for December! Until then (thank god, since I’m not ready for December yet!), here are some of the new book releases I’m looking forward to in November:
Gilded – Marissa Meyer
If you know my reading habits at all, you will know how much I love Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles series. When I heard Gilded was coming out way back last Spring, it was instantly preordered!
Advertised as a “haunting retelling of Rumpelstiltskin”, we’re back to Marissa Meyer’s prowess in reimagined fairytales; I can’t wait to see what she has in store with this one!
All of Us Villains – Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman
I’ll admit, I’m always slightly put off a book when I see it has two authors (maybe that’s just the control freak in me as a writer!), and I wasn’t completely sold on the blurb of this one either. But when I heard it described as a bloodier version of The Hunger Games with magic and V.E.Schwab vibes, I knew I had to try it.
Tiny Dancer – Siena Cherson Siegel and Mark Siegel
A little bit different and out of the norm of my usual, this is a graphic novel memoir. It’s also the sequel to an earlier book, To Dance, and is about a professional ballet dancer searching for a new purpose and her life’s direction after injury.
I think we can all relate to wanting and working for something really hard, only to be disappointed, so exploring how someone overcomes a huge change like that is something I’m very intrigued to see.
Sway With Me – Syed Masood
I’m really excited about this one. Arsalan, about to lose his only family (except for his estranged and abusive father), asks a matchmaker to find him a life partner. She agrees, but only if he’ll help her ruin her older sister’s wedding with a spectacular dance she’s been forbidden to perform. Cue Arsalan entering a chaotic and sassy world where he discovers friends and family he never expected.
I love a clash of attitudes and upbringings, and this one sounds really fun, so this is definitely going on my TBR as soon as possible.
Going Viral: A Socially Distant Love Story – Katie Cicatelli-Kuc
This one intrigues me not because of the pandemic slant it’s got going on, but because the main character starts writing a fictional love story about a girl across the street and the story goes viral. As a fan of sites like Wattpad and having written episodic fiction online, I’m interested to experience the similarities and differences between me and the protagonist.
It also sounds like it’s going to be a great story, with a promising premise, so what’s not to like?!
Those are a few of the new November book releases I’m looking forward to. What about you? Are you going to pick any of these up? Are there any books you’re excited about that I left off my list?
