Hey. I’m Georgie.
Let me ask you something: have you ever felt like there’s more out there for you? More in life? More you’re capable of?
While I don’t like to make presumptions of what other people are thinking or feeling, I think it’s safe to assume pretty much everyone has felt this way at some point in their life, at least once (probably more).
It’s human nature, right, to presume there’s more? To want to strive for greater?
That’s what drives evolution. Otherwise we’d still be primitive little hominins living in caves, waiting for fire to discover us.
Well, I’m done waiting for fire to find me. I’m going out there and making it myself.
Which is why I’m so excited to introduce you to a brand new adventure I’m embarking on – a whole new initiative I’m starting and sharing right here, so you can take the pieces that are useful for you too.
This Is Not A Before And After Sort Of Thing
Before we start, let’s get some key things straight: this is not about writing off our current lives. You don’t even have to say your life completely sucks right now.
Those looking at me from the outside would probably think I’m pretty put together, that I’ve got a lot going well for me. And, to be honest, I have (I am an incredibly lucky human). But I’ve also got a lot really not together (not unlike that sentence). Plus a bunch of stuff that’s just okay, but I wish was a little better.
And that IS everyone’s life, isn’t it? There’s some stuff we’re doing well, and some stuff we’d like to improve.
But I swear, it feels like so many self-improvement schemes seem to revel in taking your current existence and completely scrapping it in order to transform you into this radically “better” (says who, really?!) and completely different one.
And maybe that works for some people. But I don’t want to throw away my current life for another one (there’s a lot of it I really value and appreciate)! I don’t want to spend a lot of time rebuilding my entire existence – one I’ve already worked hard to create – with the intention of eventually, hopefully, revealing a whole new one that’s supposedly better at some undisclosed date.
That seems drastic. And unnecessary. And frankly, kinda overwhelming. (And possibly impossible?) Who even has time for all of that?
It also puts way too much emphasis on the destination.
I want to focus on the freaking journey. Not what I might be able to become in some distant future. I want to make the act of improvement the whole point. So it’s not “someday I’ll be this amazing person with this amazing life” – instead, I’m appreciating who I already am, making the most of what’s already working well for me today, and learning to develop the parts I want to improve as I go. As I make the most of life in the now.
It’s Okay To Want More
As I said: I’m happy. I’m grateful. I’ve got a lot going for me. And that’s only because I’ve worked hard to build this current version of me (even with all her flaws).
So I don’t want to scrap her for some potential 2.0 version.
But there is more out there. I KNOW I’m capable of more. There’s so much life I haven’t lived – so much more I want to do. So much of me I haven’t let out.
I don’t want to get to the end of my life and feel like there was more I had to give. I don’t want to squander any of my potential, or miss out on any vital plot points.
Relatable?
So I’m going to find a middle ground. I’m not ignoring who I currently am and doing a complete transformation. Nor am I going to sit around letting life pass me by.
Instead, I’m vowing to reach that deep-down potential. To find out what I really am capable of, what life really can be like – and then breaking all those limits. All while figuring out how to have the absolute best time while doing it.
Taking It Step By Step
If you want to join me, you are very welcome to come along for the ride. I can’t tell you what to expect, because I don’t completely know myself yet.
But my aim is to be open and real about all this, documenting my journey as I go. I’ll share everything I do and learn along the way – partly for accountability, but mainly in case anyone else might find it helpful.
And because sharing is fun! I’m expecting this to be a great journey to look back on – to see where I started and how far I’ve gone. Who knows: maybe it’ll make a great roadmap for someone else to follow.
So What’s It Actually All About?
While I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen on the way, I do have a rough idea of where we’re headed. And even though I can’t say I know precisely how I’m going to make these things happen – that’s what we’re here to figure out.
These are the key points on the itinerary:
- Achieving the big dream goals (after figuring out and admitting exactly what they are).
- Becoming the absolute best version of myself (ourselves).
- Creating systems and schedules to make life more efficient and less stressful.
- Developing deep, nourishing relationships.
- Making enough money to reach financial security/freedom.
- Living life to its fullest – having adventures, taking on challenges, enjoying the world and all of its opportunities as much as humanly possible.
This is about stepping away from mediocrity. From average. From just fine. To saying hello to YES. To finding out everything life’s got – and everything we’ve already got within us.
Welcome To Project Bloom
I’m calling it Project Bloom. Bloom is a verb, meaning “to mature into achievement of one’s potential.”
That’s exactly what this is. Reaching all of our potential. Winning at this game of life.
Because, as one of my all-time favourite quotes goes: no one’s getting out of here alive.
So we might as well make the most of it while we’re here. Why not make our time here the very best it can be?
