February Round Up

I don’t want to scare it off, but it’s possible Spring is approaching (at least here in the UK). Just the thought of warmer weather, days outside, and longer evenings makes me want to squeal with excitement (maybe not squeal – something more refined and British instead… raise my teacup?!)

Anyway, I know the weather’s been a bit chaotic around the world lately, so I hope, however it’s treating you right now, you’re happy and safe. I for one will be skipping into March if the prospect of sun and warmth are waiting there!

Stuff I found in Februrary worth recommending:

Quote
“So please ask yourself: What would I do if I weren’t afraid? And then go do it.” – Sheryl Sandberg.

Blog post
A neurosurgeon shares his simple way for overcoming fears @ fastcompany.com.

Song
Actually obsessed with this song – I love it so much:
What Other People Say by Sam Fischer and Demi Lovato.

Fact
The date on the 12th of this month (12022021) was both a palindrome and an ambigram – you could read it left to right and right to left, and also upside down!

Book
Isaac Marion’s Warm Bodies.
I actually read this a long time ago, but since we’re talking about temperature… I find the writing in this just hypnotic. It’s so poetic.

Flash fiction prompt
Flash fiction are micro stories of around five to 1.5k words. This month’s prompt is:
An unexpected point of view.
